A Christian County man is welcomed at Hopkinsville Fire Department after graduating from the academy Friday night.
Hopkinsville Fire Department Spokesman Captain Payton Rogers says Jacob Newby graduated from the 9-week course, completed 475 training hours, and tested for 54 exams, achieving a class average of 95/100.
He will reportedly start EMT training in the fall.
Jacob Newby, who is the son of Hopkinsville Police Department Chief Jason Newby, will join Battalion 1 on Monday morning, ready to serve the citizens of Hopkinsville.
