Christian County Welcomes Two New 911 Dispatchers

Two women graduated from the dispatch academy in Richmond Friday morning and will join Christian County’s dispatchers.

According to the Department of Criminal Justice, Abigail Doss will join the Hopkinsville Police Department dispatch, and Ketzia Rivera Mercado will be dispatching for the Oak Grove Police Department.

They both graduated from a 4-week-long dispatch academy training in Richmond.

The training included identifying the role and responsibilities of the dispatcher, correct phone and radio procedures, handling emergency and nonemergency calls for service, using emergency medical dispatch protocols, and using the state and national criminal databases.
