With more rain and storms on the way Saturday afternoon, Todd County officials encourage the public to stay vigilant and follow ‘Road Closed’ signs.
Judge-Executive Todd Mansfield said people need to respect the barricades.
Mansfield added that while not much road damage has been spotted, Antioch Church Road at Antioch Creek will require some emergency work.
He shared that the full extent of flooding damage will not be known until the water recedes.
As far as structural damage, there were a few reports of roof and barn damage throughout the county from severe storms.
As far as the city of Elkton, Mayor Arthur Green said that water has receded, but with the up to 4″ expected Saturday afternoon – that could change.
Green shared some of the areas of concern for this expected rain.
As of midday Saturday, Elkton reported about 8.5″ of rain throughout this entire storm, while the Todd County Mesonet site – south of Elkton has recorded 6.95″ since Wednesday evening.
