A Hastings, Michigan, man was charged with assaulting a deputy in Trigg County Friday night.
Cadiz Police say they were called to the Super 7 for 38-year-old Bobbie Smith, who was in the mud behind the building and making obscene gestures at officers.
He reportedly resisted arrest and bit a deputy who was assisting the Cadiz officer during the arrest.
Smith was arrested and charged with third-degree assault of a police officer, public intoxication, and resisting arrest.
