Native Reflections Exhibit
June 22, 2021 @ 8:00 am - June 24, 2021 @ 4:00 pm
Glema Mahr Center for the Arts has been selected as one of several venues across Kentucky to host the Kentucky Arts Council’s traveling exhibit, Native Reflections: Visual Art by American Indians of Kentucky. The exhibit will run from May 3 to June 24, 2021.
The exhibit features 23 works by 12 Kentuckians who identify as American Indians of either enrolled tribal membership or unenrolled, but native inspired individuals. The submitted work was adjudicated by a panel of American Indian artists and members of the Kentucky Native American Heritage Commission for inclusion in the traveling exhibit.
“The Glema staff is excited to host this exhibit as an opportunity for a soft re-opening for the facility that has been closed to the public for the last 14 months,” explains Center Director, Brad Downall. Covid-19 protocols will be in place, and all guests will be asked to check-in at the front offices. Masks and social distancing will be required. The Glema Center is located at 2000 College Drive on the campus of Madisonville Community College. The Anne P. Baker Gallery is open M–Th, 9-4.
