Square Founder Says True Innovators Are Not Experienced

Innovation moves the world forward, but Square founder, Jim McKelvey says it’s hard work that more often than not fails.

McKelvey was the keynote speaker at the Annual Hopkinsville-Christian County Chamber of Commerce Dinner Thursday night. He says Square was born from a simple interaction selling his glass art, in which he couldn’t take an American Express card.

Cody Noffsinger was recognized as the Young Professional of the Year; Kayleigh Colley was named the Bob Kelso Ambassador of the Year; Nikki Chambers was honored with the President’s Award; and new this year the Key Stone Award was given to the Hopkinsville Industrial Foundation for its decision to move the community forward by purchasing Commerce Park 2 last year.
