Two men were charged with receiving stolen property after they were found inside a stolen vehicle on Fort Campbell Boulevard in Hopkinsville Sunday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Police say 44-year-old Daniel Mitchell, of Carson, Kansas was found in the driver seat of an SUV that was reported stolen out of Kansas. 37-year-old Nickolas Wright, of Kansas City, Missouri was reportedly in the passenger seat, and after a law enforcement canine alerted on the vehicle a bag of a white powder substance was found in the center console.
The owner of the vehicle reportedly told law enforcement that the two men had been working on the house across the road from him and he woke up to his vehicle missing.
Police say city cameras alerted them of the stolen vehicle being in the area before it was found in the Little Caesars parking lot.
Both men were arrested and charged with receiving stolen property and first-degree possession of a controlled substance (drug unspecified).
