Inmates at the Christian County jail are serving the county through the jail’s work release program.
Jailer Adam Smith says the initiative is a huge part of the community.

On a daily basis, around 60 inmates and 5 staff participate in the program. At the moment, they have been busy with the Western Kentucky State Fair.

click to download audioInmates also have access to the services of a full-time staff member from the Pennyroyal Center who serves as a reentry coordinator.
