Archie Crawford, 82, of Hopkinsville, KY died at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at his residence.
Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home with Rev. Darrell Crawford officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
A native of Kennett, Missouri he was born September 16, 1940, the son of the late Elton D. Crawford and Lillian B. Edmunson Crawford. He was a retired SFC with the United States Army having served over 20 years. He was a recipient of the Bronze Star Medal based on his service in Vietnam. He was a member of Living Hope Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Mary Elizabeth Epley Crawford; his granddaughter: Amber Danielle Blair; and ten brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his children: Melissa D. Dorsey of Maryville, TN, Roger D. (Donna) Blair of Cleveland, TN, Ivan (Tammy) Crawford of Appling, GA, Alvin (Janice) Crawford of Hephzibah, GA, Cecil D. (Ana) Crawford of Hagerstown, IN, and Rev. Darrell (Angela) Crawford of Hopkinsville, KY; his brothers: David G. Crawford of Pocahontas, IL and Tommy Crawford of Kennett, MO 12 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.
