A Hopkinsville woman was charged Monday afternoon with forgery and theft after she was reportedly found to have deposited money into her account from someone else’s in August.
Hopkinsville Police say a check was stolen out of a mailbox and after further investigation, a $2,835 transaction was sent from a mobile app to an account for 26-year-old Haley Pool.
After a search of Pool’s home and vehicle 11 debit cards, 14 altered and forged checks, two Kentucky ID cards, a social security card, and two checkbooks, along with 11 checks and mail for several different people were reportedly found.
Pool was arrested and charged with theft of mail matter, first-degree unlawful access to a computer, theft of receipt of stolen credit card/debit card, theft of identity, attempted theft by deception, and six counts of second-degree forgery.
