The historic Alhambra Theatre will have a busy slate of events to celebrate the holiday season including showings of some of the most iconic Christmas movies ever made.
After successful weekend showings of the Nutcracker ballet produced by Brooke Bailey’s Dance Addiction and Gymnastics, the Pennyroyal Arts Council will turn its attention to its Jazz on Stage program on Friday, December 8.
Margaret Prim, executive director of the art council, said the Daniel Kelly Quartet will offer two shows.

Before Saturday’s Hopkinsville Christmas parade, the Alhambra will have a 2:00 matinee showing of the Tom Hanks holiday film The Polar Express.
On Sunday night December 17, the Alhambra will show Home Alone — the first of four straight nights with a Christmas film. On Monday, December 18 it’s the Will Ferrell movie Elf at 6:00. Tuesday, December 19 is the Jim Carrey film How the Grinch Stole Christmas, also at 6:00. And Wednesday, December 20 movie is the holiday classic It’s a Wonderful Life.
Prim said on Thursday, December 21, Christmas in Killarney comes to the Alhambra.
