A woman was flown to a Nashville hospital after she was attacked by a dog on Dogwood Drive in Hopkinsville Monday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Police say just before 2 p.m. they were called to the area for a woman that was being attacked by a dog and found the woman who was severely injured with the dog still attacking her.
The dog reportedly had to be shot twice before it would release the woman and the dog died from its injuries.
The woman was taken by Hopkinsville EMS to a waiting helicopter that flew her to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville for severe head arm and leg injuries.
