To simply say that the Lyon County Lyons were dialed in from long distance Tuesday night would be a vast understatement. The Lyons knocked down 23 shots from behind the arc as they cruised to a 106-71 win over the Dawson Springs Panther in Jason White Gym.
Four Lyon County starters made at least three 3-pointers on the night. Travis Perry led the aerial assault with 10 shots from deep. Jack Reddick added seven. Brady Shoulders and Bray Kirk each had three of their own.
The attack started early as the Lyons knocked down five 3’s in the first quarter on their way to a 35-19 lead.
It’s not as if the Panthers didn’t have a decent night from behind the arc either, as Dawson Springs knocked down five of their own in the first quarter. Problem was, they only made four more the rest of the night.
The Lyons ‘cooled off’ some in the second quarter, only making three deep shots, but they still managed to extend the lead to 55-33 at the half.
The roof then caved in on the Panthers in the third quarter. Lyon County buried 10 3-pointers in the third quarter, five of them coming from Jack Reddick, as the lead ballooned out to 91-50 heading into the final eight minutes of the night.
With the running clock in play, the Lyons only made five shots in the fourth, but they were all from behind the 3-point line, as Lyon County took the 35-point win.
Travis Perry added 33 points to his career total. He made only one field goal from inside the 3-point line in the game. Jack Reddick added 23 points, while Brady Shoulders added 22.
Montgomery Johnston led three Panthers in double figures with 21 points. Rex Blue had 19 while Deacon Dever scored 18.
Lyon County goes to 26-3 with the win. The Lyons will wrap up the regular season Thursday night when they host Calloway County for Homecoming 2024.
