A Herndon man was charged with assaulting a police officer at a restaurant on Fort Campbell Boulevard Wednesday night.
Hopkinsville Police say they were called to Buffalo Wild Wings for 49-year-old Steven Toon who is refusing to leave.
When officers reportedly explained to him he was not going to be able to drive home due to being intoxicated he made threatening statements towards employees of the restaurant.
Police say he resisted arrest and spit on an officer before being taken to jail. He is charged with third-degree assault of a police officer, alcohol intoxication in a public place, and resisting arrest.
