A Hopkinsville man was charged Monday morning with leaving the scene of an accident after a wreck on Short 19th Street Friday.
Hopkinsville Police say they stopped a vehicle driven by 20-year-old Josiah Bridges that was dragging something on the pavement on Bella Court and found the SUV had been involved in a crash on Short 19th Street.
The crash reportedly happened on Friday but Bridges decided to try to drive the vehicle Monday morning.
He allegedly told police he struck his buddy’s house because his brakes went out but the owner of the home told police he did not know Bridges.
Bridges was arrested and charged with reckless driving, improper equipment, second-degree wanton endangerment, and leaving the scene of an accident.
