Man Charged With Fleeing From Law Enforcement

A man was charged with fleeing from law enforcement after a report of a homeless male hiding behind a dumpster on West 7th Street Tuesday morning.

Hopkinsville Police say as they talked with 52-year-old Elvis Ford who was found to have an active warrant for theft of mail matter he attempted to flee on foot and resisted being put in handcuffs.

In his belongings found behind the dumpster, a syringe with an unknown substance was reportedly located.

He was arrested and charged with second-degree fleeing or evading police, resisting arrest, and first-degree possession of a controlled substance (drug unspecified).
