Second Chance at Peace Cj Clark Memorial Fun Ruck 2024

Clayton Alan Clark Junior served as an 0311, in the United States Marine Corps.

Clayton or CJ as many knew him, served and fought during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Cj suffered from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder ( PTSD) and TBI.

Cj passed away 2 weeks prior to his 26th birthday, leaving behind a wife and his three young children, Anna Grace, Cooper, and Hope, at the ages of 4,2 ,and 1. CJ loved his family. He enjoyed the outdoors, whether in a tree stand, fishing, or pushing his babies in a swing outside. Despite this, he was not able to find peace in his mind. While they were young when he passed, his three children, particularly Anna Grace, strive to bring awareness to PTSD and to help our military service members find help and have a second chance at peace.

At a very young age, Anna Grace already had the desire and heart to raise awareness and help service members She has written several essays and shared them publicly by posting or speaking on veterans day, and also performing marches in her school talent shows. While raising awareness is important, she wanted to do more. She wanted to do something that could have a more direct impact on those that she was bringing awareness to. She came up with the idea to help raise funds to help with the training of service dogs . Her father had a service dog named Sarg. This became the inspiration she needed for the fun ruck charity event.
It is our goal not only bring awareness, but to give back to those that gave their all serving our country and prevent such tragedy, as a life being lost, as the only way to find peace.

About the Event:
On behalf of his family, Military Wild is honored to host the Second Chance for Peace CJ Clark Memorial Fun Ruck to raise funds for Second Chance K9. After the ruck, we will have a picnic lunch in the grassy area near the Pollard Road Trailhead entrance. This lunch is BYOP (bring your own picnic), but we will have some water and snacks available. During or after lunch, we will hear from Travis Hall, founder of Second Chance K9 and Special Forces Veteran and former Special Forces dog handler.
