A wreck on Pennyrile Parkway sent a Clarksville woman to a Nashville hospital Friday afternoon.
Christian County Sheriff’s deputies say a northbound van driven by 20-year-old Gwynneth Almquist ran off the road at the 17 mile marker, crossed the median, overturning before coming to a stop in the southbound lanes.
Montgomery Fire Department Fire Chief Doug Latham reportedly stopped and rendered aid to Almquist until Christian County first responders arrived.
Almquist was taken by Hopkinsville EMS to a waiting helicopter that flew her to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville due to her injuries.
A dog that was in Almquist’s van has not been located.
Deputies were assisted by Christian County Rescue, Highland Fire Department, Hopkinsville EMS, and the Air Evac Life team.
