A Florida man was charged with possession of drugs during a traffic stop on Pennyrile Parkway in Hopkinsville on Monday.

Christian County Sheriff’s deputies say they stopped a vehicle driven by 30-year-old Jaumell Lewis for going 22 mph over the speed limit at the 2-mile marker.

During the stop, deputies could reportedly smell the odor of marijuana, and after a search, suspected marijuana, pills believed to be percocet, ecstasy, and some unknown drugs were found.

He was arrested and charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of amphetamine, possession of marijuana, operating on a suspended or revoked license, possessing a license when privileges are revoked, and speeding.
