Cadiz On Main Director Terminated As KSP Investigates

City of Cadiz Attorney Allen Wilson confirmed Tuesday evening that a letter of termination has been delivered to former On Main Director Brianna Hyde, and that an investigation has been turned over to Kentucky State Police Post 1 in Mayfield.

What that investigation entails is not clear at this time, and as of late Tuesday evening, no charges had been filed. Sources, however, indicate KSP’s detective efforts are not complete. Hyde’s job is not posted, nor is her former office at Cadiz City Hall open to the public.

These actions come less than two weeks before the 48th Annual Trigg County Country Ham Festival — an event she had some control over not only as a city employee, but also as the celebration’s committee chair for a second straight year.

Mayor Todd King said he could not comment at this time on the matter, and deferred to city representation.

During Tuesday’s city council meeting, however, he lauded the efforts of former On Main Director Casey Parrent, the city’s main office staff alongside City Clerk Susan Hyde, the city’s Public Works Department alongside Craig Oakley, and new Cadiz-Trigg County Tourism Director Beth Sumner — all of which, he said, have come to aid in last-minute preparations across the community.

This was Hyde’s second stint at the position, following a short term of service last year before resigning this past spring — citing constraints on the job. She returned to the post six weeks later, though, following a brief stand-in from Heather Armbruster.

At the time of her re-hiring, Hyde told the News Edge she was “passionate about Cadiz,” as it serves as home for her and her family.

The Trigg County Country Ham Festival Committee next meets at noon Thursday in Cadiz City Hall.

This is a developing story.
