An update from Ascend Elements was the main focus of the South Western Kentucky Economic Development Council’s monthly meeting on Monday afternoon.
Mark Fern, Apex 1 Site Manager, told the board of directors the facility is progressing nicely and will be around 1 million square feet in size when completed.
Fern added they should be fully operational next year.
Additionally, Ascend’s Equity Program Manager DeeAnna Sova shared about the projects they have been involved with that deal with education, workforce development, transportation, and childcare. She said of the programs they have a hand in creating – the goal is to have them self-sustaining in the future.
In other news, South Western Kentucky EDC Director Carter Hendricks told the board the Hopkinsville Community College HOPFAME has a 92-percent job placement success rate.
