The application period for the Trigg County EMS Elf Magic Squad began recently and will continue for the next three weeks.
Trigg County EMS Director Jason Meador calls the application process simple. He says it is for Trigg County residents and can be done at the ambulance department located behind Trigg County Hospital until November 16th.
click to download audioMeador says once the application process ends next month, the EMS workers will begin the task of getting the appropriate gifts ready for pickup day on December 14th.
He also says donations from the community will be accepted during the application period.
click to download audioThe Christmas toy program was begun by the late Nell Thomas in 1980. Meador says the former long-time director of the ambulance service wanted kids to have a good Christmas.

click to download audioLast year, the Elf Magic Squad made Christmas possible for over 60 families and 250 Trigg County kids.
Meador remembers one family they helped several years ago.
