CCSO To Hold Neighborhood Watch Training

The Christian County Sheriff’s Office will be having a free Neighborhood Watch training next month to give people the chance to learn how to establish a watch program in their area or community.

The comprehensive training will cover Neighborhood Watch basics such as volunteer management, strategic planning, partnerships, meeting planning and conduct, observation skills, and how to report suspicious activity.

Christian County Sheriff’s Deputy Chris Miller says there are very few if any, active Neighborhood Watch programs operating in Christian County outside of Hopkinsville. He says there were several at one time in Crofton, Pembroke, and Lacy but they have dissipated over the years. He hopes this training session will renew interest in those areas and possibly create new programs in the smaller communities and areas in the county such as Gracey, Fairview, and others.

Due to limited space, the first 50 participants will be allowed to attend the training. Pre-registration is required by sending an Email to admin@christiancountyso.com with your name, area of residence, and phone number.

The Neighborhood Watch training will be held on on Thursday, November 14, from 6:00 until 9:00 pm at 701 West 7th Street in Hopkinsville.
