In preparation for the end of 2024, Hopkinsville Community College’s Board of Directors gathered Monday — reviewing positive, transitioning news into next year.
In a discussion about campus programs, HCC’s President & CEO Dr. Alissa Young noted that recent work completed by the school’s construction technology students involved the building of a structure that will be further used to train students.
Young said the structure is a “modular replica” of a home, and that electrical technology students are in the middle of placing wiring within the building, and HVAC students will later install duct work and appropriate units.
The project, she said, was possible through a partnership with Habitat for Humanity — who helped provide materials for the effort.
Furthermore, renovations continue on the academic building and SMART Center, and sales continue to trend upward with the Pathfinder Grill. A list of sought capital projects has also been submitted to KCTCS officials, as part of the board’s six-year Strategic Needs Capital Plan.
