CCPS Looking for Facilities Committee Members

With construction on the new Christian County High School well underway, it is time again for the school district to look at the rest of its facilities. Every four years the state requires school districts to conduct a facilities assessment and rank the condition of the buildings as well as the needs.

Christian County will have a Local Planning Committee of 20 individuals representing stakeholders in the district, including three community leaders. That application process is currently open, according to Assistant Superintendent Kevin Crider.

click to download audioThursday night, the School Board voted to select Lindsey Clark to serve as its representative on the committee. Board Member Ambrea Watkins asked if the plan would include projected growth and a new building. Superintendent Chris Bentzel shared the results of the Davis Demographic study done several years ago.

click to download audioIn other business, Erin Westerfield and Ambrea Watkins were sworn in as elected members of the board since both were filling unexpired terms for others. Rebecca Pepper will be sworn in in January at the start of her new term.
