JSH Foundation Receives $900,000 Endowment

The Jennie Stuart Health Foundation held a Monday reception to announce the creation of the Bert and Nell Dorris Lilly Cancer Care Endowment.

The $650,000 gift to the foundation will support cancer care at Jennie Stuart Medical Center through the E.C. Green Cancer Care Capital Campaign.

Hospital CEO Eric Lee said following the September naming of the Bert and Nell Dorris Radiation Oncology Department, more of Lilly’s bequest was available for the endowment.

He added the gift will not only help transform the E.C. Green Cancer Center but will also ensure additional growth, impact, and support to the center’s patients.

Tracey Williams, the Jennie Stuart Health Foundation board chair, added an additional $400,000 gift has been made to the Foundation through the estate of Mr. Gayle Mosley, a nephew to Bert and Nell.

Bert and Nell Dorris, along with Gayle Mosley, will be permanently recognized in the Dr. Edward Stuart Legacy Society, which honors those who remember the Jennie Stuart Health Foundation in their estate planning.

The Jennie Stuart Health Foundation was formed in 2018 and is a 501-C-3 philanthropic subsidiary of Jennie Stuart Health.
