Still targeting a $700,000 fundraising goal for 18 partner agencies in Trigg, Christian and Todd counties, the United Way of the Pennyrile “Shine Like The Stars” Annual Campaign, as it stands right now, is at 41% of the goal.

That’s according to representatives Ashley Nichols and Dan Kemp, who recently told Your News Edge that everything wraps up next February, and that everyone is pushing hard for a big boost to efforts in December.

Nichols, of Trigg County’s Seven Springs Farms, noted that it’s easy for donated monies to be directed not only to a specific agency, but also a specific community.

Kemp, among many things Hopkinsville’s former mayor, said these 18 agencies have their own micro-efforts to sustain success and community accessibility.

But it’s this fundraising campaign that helps lift all boats.

Have questions, or want to know more about those partner agencies? Nichols and Kemp said that from 11 AM until 1 PM Tuesday, December 3, the United Way of the Pennyrile will be hosting a “Giving Tuesday” Open House. Members of the community are invited to drop in, donate and visit with members of those 18 partner agencies, while enjoying cider and snacks.

The United Way office is located at 1110 South Main Street in Hopkinsville, and both said it was a perfect time to have all questions answered about the consistent and thoughtful giving.
