Tennessee Man Charged With Assaulting Cadiz Police Officer

A Humboldt, Tennessee, man was charged with assaulting a police officer after being arrested for alcohol intoxication in a public place Thursday night.

Cadiz Police say they were called to Lafayette Street for an altercation and found 54-year-old Kenneth Sherron, who was being loud and aggressive.

After being arrested and taken to the hospital for medical clearance, he reportedly tried to spit and bite officers before kicking and hitting the officer while being put in the cruiser.

The officer reportedly suffered scratches to his face, laceration to his finger, and a swollen lip from the arrest.

Sherron is charged with menacing, alcohol intoxication in a public place, second-degree disorderly conduct, and two counts of third-degree assault of the police officer.
