Christian County Public Schools announced Thursday afternoon that Kim Lint has been selected to serve as the next principal of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Early Learning Center.
She was currently serving as the interim principal for the school.
Assistant Superintendent Jessica Addison noted that Lint has an extensive background in early childhood education with a “deep passion” for early learning, and that she brings “exceptional leadership and vision” to the school.
During her time as interim, Addison said that Lint also made “significant strides” in fostering growth and success.
She has more than 30 years of experience in education as an elementary teacher, instructional coach, curriculum specialist and assistant principal, having taught in Todd, Hopkins, and Muhlenberg counties, as well as Orlando Florida.
She joined the staff at South Christian Elementary in 2019, and before stepping into the interim principal role at the MLK Early Learning Center, she served as the assistant principal at Freedom Elementary.
Lint holds a bachelor’s degree in early education and a master’s degree in elementary education from Austin Peay State University. She earned her Rank 1 supervisor of instruction from the University of the Cumberlands and a Rank 1 in instructional leadership from Murray State University.
In a written statement, Lint said she’s committed to provide a “nurturing, safe and enriching environment where all children can grow, learn and feel valued.”
Lint and her husband, Will, reside in Hopkinsville and enjoy spending time with their five children and nine grandchildren.
