A Princeton man was flown to an Evansville, Indiana, hospital after a shooting on McRidley Street in Cadiz Sunday afternoon.

Cadiz Police Chief Tyler Thomas says 49-year-old Aaron Bard suffered at least four gunshot wounds to several places on his body and was rushed to Trigg County Hospital to meet with a helicopter to take him to another hospital.

Thomas says Bard went to the home of 46-year-old Lamont Crump after a previous incident at a barbecue and Crump fired shots hitting Bard.

A Cadiz Police Officer who first arrived at the home was reportedly able to apply a tourniquet to Bard’s arm to control his bleeding while waiting for an ambulance.

The shooting was reported to authorities just before 2 pm. Crump was interviewed by officers and then charged with first-degree assault, first-degree wanton endangerment, and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
