A Christian County Circuit Court jury deliberated less than an hour Thursday afternoon, before finding Ricky Thomas guilty on two counts of first-degree sodomy of a child under 12 and two counts of sexual abuse of a child under 12.

Once the guilty verdicts were returned, the attorneys and the defendant agreed to a total sentence of 20 years in the custody of the Kentucky Department of Corrections.

Presiding Circuit Judge John Atkins set the final sentencing for April 9.

The charges stem from a series of events in 2021 and 2022 in Christian County, and the case was prosecuted by Mark Gilbert and defended by Jerad Jackson.
