Kentucky Soybean Association Executive Director Debbie Ellis was recently presented the Thomas Poe Cooper Farm Leadership Award from the University of Kentucky Gatton College of Agriculture Food and Environment.
Ellis says she was honored to receive the award.
Ellis says most of her career has been with the Kentucky Soybean Association.
She adds agriculture has always been a part of her life.
Debbie Ellis says working with farmers has been the highlight of career.
She has enjoyed seeing how the soybean checkoff has helped farmers since it’s inception.
The Thomas Poe Cooper Farm Leadership Award is presented each year by the UK Cooperative Extension Service to Kentuckians who exemplify leadership across agriculture, 4-H, family and consumer sciences of community and economic development.
