Trigg County Athletic Hall of Fame to Induct 13th Class on Saturday

The 13th class of the Trigg County High School Athletic Hall of Fame will be inducted Saturday afternoon at the high school.

Benji Glunt, Ray Torian, Tom Patterson, and the 1999 girls’ region championship golf team comprise the latest class.

Mike Wright oversees the selection committee for the hall of fame and called Benji Glunt part of the heart and soul of Trigg County’s back-to-back state football championship teams of the early 1970s.

click to download audioRay Torian was a standout pitcher for the Wildcats at a time in the early 1970s when Trigg rarely played more than 10 games in a season. Wright said he also achieved success after high school.

click to download audioTom Patterson was a long-time coach of the Trigg County Arrowcats and was head coach when Trigg won three straight state archery titles.

click to download audioThe Hall of Fame class will be recognized between games at Friday’s doubleheader with Hopkinsville High School. Wright says Saturday’s ceremony will be at the high school Little Theater.
