A Hopkinsville man was charged with assaulting a woman after a pursuit in Hopkinsville Sunday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Police say they were called to Florence Street for Jimmy Wells, who had punched a woman in the face and then used a baton to hit a wall several times while holding a child.
He was reportedly located in a vehicle leaving the area and failed to stop for law enforcement, then disregarded stop signs and drove back to the house on Florence Street.
Wells was arrested and charged with fourth-degree assault, first-degree wanton endangerment, second-degree disorderly conduct, first-degree fleeing or evading police, and several traffic violations.
