Kentucky’s Hunting, Fishing, Trapping Licenses Open Up March 1

Starting March 1, licenses and permits for hunting, fishing, and trapping will be available for the 2025-26 season, running through February 28, 2026.

Fees for Kentucky residents remain unchanged, while most non-resident fees stay the same except for slight increases:

Non-resident Annual Hunting License: $160
Non-resident Spring & Fall Turkey Permits: $110 each
Non-resident Deer Permit: $235
The Senior Lifetime Sportsman’s License remains $180, covering hunting, fishing, and multiple permits for residents 65+. Annual options include a $12 Senior Sportsman’s License, a $23 Fishing License, or a $55 three-year Fishing License.

Licenses are available online at fw.ky.gov.

Spring hunting highlights include Youth Turkey Weekend (April 5-6) and the regular turkey season starting April 12. The $30 Youth Sportsman’s License covers turkey and deer hunting for ages 12-15.
