Ronald Ray Putty, affectionately known as Ronnie, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2025, at the age of 77. A lifelong resident of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, Ronnie was born on May 27, 1947, in Mortons Gap, Kentucky, to his loving parents, Launie R. Putty and Jessie Putty.
Ronnie proudly served his country as an SP4 in the United States Army, where he was stationed in Korea. After his service, he built a career in the car business, where he worked for most of his life in Hopkinsville.
Ronnie married Jackie Armstrong, and together they built a beautiful life and family together. Jackie preceded him in death on January 22, 2024, and their reunion in heaven is sure to be a joyous one. Ronnie is survived by his three children: Shane Putty and wife Kelly Putty, Jason Putty and wife Emily Putty, and his daughter Leah Putty. His legacy lives on through his children, ten cherished grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren, all of whom he adored and played an active role in their lives.
Ronnie is also survived by his three younger siblings, Dwight Putty, Benja Putty, and his sister Gaye Putty. He was deeply loved by his family and many lifelong friends, who remained by his side through the years, sharing laughter, stories, and an unbreakable bond.
His faith was the foundation of his life, and he was a devoted member of Grace Ministries. His belief in God guided him through life’s highs and lows, and he was an inspiration to many through his steadfast faith and love for others.
Ronnie was a man who never met a stranger. His presence lit up any room, his humor was contagious, and his kindness was genuine. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and faith that will continue to shine through his family and friends.
A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, March 6, at Grace Ministries, 720 North Elm Street, Hopkinsville, KY 42240. Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM, with the funeral service beginning at 12:30 PM. Ronnie will be laid to rest at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West.
