A Hopkinsville man was charged with assault and theft after a fight with a woman on Moores Court Sunday morning.

Hopkinsville Police say the woman let 21-year-old Kerrie Waddell stay at her apartment despite the fact that she had a stay away order in place, and they got into an argument over her phone.

Police say he attempted to stab her car tire, ripped the rearview mirror down, shoved her to the ground, grabbed her phone, and attempted to walk away, then she stabbed him in the back with a pair of scissors before he pulled a gun on her and stated he was going to kill her.

The fight was recorded on the security camera by the apartment complex.

Waddell was arrested and charged with first-degree criminal mischief, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, tampering with physical evidence, receiving stolen property, theft by unlawful taking, third-degree terroristic threatening, and fourth-degree assault.
