Cadiz Rotarians Celebrate Big First Auction Day

The Cadiz Rotary Club’s first day of its annual fundraising auction featured one of its biggest breakfast numbers and later Monday, saw the auction feature nearly 90 items sold.

The W.J. Hopson Kickoff Breakfast raised over $10,300 Monday morning — nearly $4,000 more than last year.

Monday night’s auction featured both a live auction and an online auction through the WKDZ Big Deals Store. In the first two hours of the live auction, 89 items were sold for over $5,500. Monday just scratched the surface for the week with over 900 total items expected to sell.

The country store also brought in $882 and brought Monday’s auction and breakfast grand total to $17,500.

The annual tradition between the Cadiz and Hopkinsville Rotary Clubs continued Monday when Kelly Gates, chairman of next week’s Hopkinsville Rotary Auction, made a presentation to the Cadiz club along with some of Hoptown’s members.
